Hi, I’m Valeska — the creator behind Kindling Hamster Designs
Kindling Hamster Designs started with two things I’ve loved for as long as I can remember: geek culture and making things with my hands. I’ve always been happiest wandering through Comic‑Cons, diving into new TV shows, or getting lost in a good book. Those worlds sparked my imagination, and eventually, they inspired me to start creating pieces of my own.
Where It Began
Sewing and crafting began as a simple hobby — something I did in my spare time just because it brought me joy. I loved turning my favorite characters and stories into something tangible, something I could hold, wear, or share. Before long, friends and family started asking for custom items, tossing new ideas my way, and encouraging me to take my work beyond my living room.
Taking the Leap
In 2017, I decided to take the leap and start doing this professionally. What began as a fun pastime slowly grew into a part‑time business, fueled by creativity, fandom energy, and the support of the people around me. My family and friends still play a huge role — from brainstorming designs to helping me set up at Comic‑Cons and craft shows. It’s become a team effort in the best possible way.

Today, Kindling Hamster Designs by Valeska is my little corner of the geek universe where I get to blend my love of pop culture with the joy of handmade craftsmanship. Every piece I create is made with care, a bit of fandom magic, and a whole lot of heart.
